Requirements

  • A .xlsx, .xls or .csv file containing orders and order items

  • The file must be up to 100 rows

Detailed Guide

Step 1: Preparing Your CSV File

1.1 File Format

  • Your file should include order details such as item names, quantities, prices, etc. Each column represents a different aspect of the order.

  • Ensure that your file is properly formatted, with each row representing a unique order or order items and columns representing order attributes.

1.2 Data Specifications

  • Mandatory columns: These are essential for order processing (e.g., Item Name, Quantity). The system will not accept uploads without these fields.

  • Recommended columns: These provide additional valuable information (e.g., Customer Email) and enhance order processing accuracy.

  • Optional columns: These are additional fields that can be included but are not necessary for order processing (e.g., Special Instructions).

For a detailed explanation of the columns, types, and validation rules check out this manual.

Step 2: Uploading Your CSV File

2.1 Upload Method

  • Go to the Orders tab under Fulfillment.

  • Click on the small arrow next to the 'Add Order' button, and choose 'Upload File'.

2.2 Template Selection (Optional)

If you have previously uploaded a file and saved the mapping template, you can select it here to auto-map your columns, saving time.

2.3 Upload your file

  • Upload your file by browsing it on your computer or by dragging and dropping it in the designated area.

Step 3: Choosing the Header Row

  • The system will display a preview of your file. Select the row that contains your column headers. This helps the system identify how to map data correctly.

Step 4: Mapping file Columns to ehouse Columns

  • Manually align each column in your file with the corresponding field in ehouse. This step is crucial for accurate data processing.

  • In case a column validation rule permits specific values only (for example - package weight unit), a mapping is required.

Step 5: Validating the Data

  • After mapping, the system will automatically validate the data in each column.

  • Pay attention to cells highlighted in red (errors) or yellow (warnings). Errors must be corrected for successful upload (order will be skipped entirely), while warnings are cautions that should be reviewed (order will be uploaded, but the invalid cells will be skipped).

  • For ease of use, try the toggle on the top-right side of the screen to show invalid orders only

Step 6: Saving the Template (Optional)

  • Once your columns are correctly mapped and validated, you have the option to save this mapping as a template.

  • Name your template for easy identification for future uploads.

Troubleshooting and Tips

  • Incorrect Formatting: Ensure your file is correctly formatted. Avoid extra spaces, special characters, or incorrect data types in your columns.

  • Validation Errors: Refer to the specific error message. Common issues include incorrect decimal formats or invalid email addresses. check out this manual for more validation instructions

  • Template Issues: If a saved template does not work correctly, recheck the mapping and update it as necessary.
